Do you need help with MIPS?

June 27, 2017 by Mike Holtz Leave a Comment

Do I need help with MIPS? We hope that this is a question that all providers are asking themselves. We are now half way through 2017 and the first reporting year for MIPS. Providers should no longer be asking the question; “What is MIPS?”, they should be asking for help! Unfortunately there are still a lot of providers, and offices that are still scratching their heads or thinking they don’t have to worry about it.

That is true, you don’t have to worry about it, but you do have to take action. All eligible clinicians should be actively collecting data and fulfilling all program requirements at this point of the year. Providers should be asking for help and working with a dedicated coach. The MACRA legislation is subject to reinterpretation and thus the Quality Payment Program will continue to evolve over time. MIPS has recently undergone a substantial overhaul for the 2018 reporting period. For more information on changes to the program you can click here.

2017 gave clinicians the option to pick their pace. You could choose to take the penalty, receive a null payment adjustment, or a full positive payment adjustment. The latest change to MIPS allows for continued flexibility through the 2018 reporting year while increasing the requirements for clinicians to receive a positive payment adjustment. In addition CMS has also adjusted the eligibility requirements for the 2018 reporting year. Staying abreast of the changes to the program, your reporting requirements, and your current performance is a lot of work.

So what should you do? Start by answering “Yes”, I do need help. Then let us “worry” about MIPS for you. Access1 provides dedicated MIPS coaching. Our coaches are up to date on the latest updates in the MIPS program and all of the requirements. We will work with you and your EMR to ensure that you are completing all the requirements and obtaining a high MIPS score. Most importantly we will do our best to take the fear and uncertainty out of this new program so you can do what you do best. Provide excellent patient care while qualifying for the largest positive payment adjustment with the least amount of work.

Access1 Renews Focus on Medicare Incentive Programs

April 28, 2017 by Mike Holtz Leave a Comment

For the past 5 years Access1 has helped many clinicians and offices navigate Medicare incentive programs like Meaningful use. With 2017 comes the largest change to Medicare Reimbursement in over a generation in the form of the MACRA/MIPS program. As a result Access1 has renewed its focus on Medicare reimbursement coaching and support. We are pleased to announce that Joe Ernst has joined the Access1 team as a designated MIPS coach. Joe will be working with clinicians to insure that they get the highest MIPS score with the least amount of effort.

2017 is the first year for the MIPS program and thus the first year that many clinicians will be required to participate in a Medicare incentive program. In it’s first year MIPS provides a transitional period for clinicians to pick their reporting pace. Clinicians who meet MIPS requirements but do not participate in the program are subject to a 4% penalty. Working with a coach will help providers receive a high MIPS score and up to a 9% bonus on their medicare reimbursement.

Access1 has experience working with providers in a wide range of specialties, using many different medical software packages. Our knowledgeable coaches will help you select appropriate Quality Measures, guide you through the correct Advancing Care Initiatives, and help you select applicable Improvement Activities. Access1 allows you to focus on your patients, your staff and your practice while we take all the hard work out of MIPS. Call Mike and Joe today for a free evaluation. (970) 460-9392.

Access 1 Business Services Launches New Website

December 31, 2016 by Mike Holtz Leave a Comment

[Windsor, CO – December 31, 2016] – Access 1 Business Services LLC, a company that provides MIPS/MACRA Coaching, Medical Billing, Offsite Backup and IT Works! Maintenance launches their new website, designed by Musselwhite Marketing to provide their clients and potential clients easier access and resources to theirs and partners services.

Streamlining Processes with Access 1 Business Services LLC

During the company’s preliminary stages, the owners noticed the increasing demand for talented and experienced medical billers. It also noted, however, that the demand and the manpower were not always in the same location.

The company responded to this need by offering software for medical offices. This software allows users to securely access their documents and funds from any location, 24/7. Through the software, medical practices can handle their billing requirements and file storage effectively without having to hire another team member. According to the company, the software delivers output that can equal the work of an actual medical billing professional.

It also provides IT Works! Maintenance services, to cater to the needs of offices that may not yet have the budget to hire in-house IT staff. Through a service called IT Works Maintenance!, it provides comprehensive monthly computer checks. Routine upkeep can help the clients’ computers running like new.

Its other services span from medical billing software and IT maintenance to software evaluation, web design, and more. To learn more about the services they offer, please click here.
